My Story

Respect for all...
From a very young age, I felt a profound connection to animals and the environment that surrounded me. Probably because my earliest years were spent in an area of largely farmland, the outdoors became my playground and the foundation for how I see the world. Even though I was just a child and didn’t fully understand it at the time, I sensed that every creature deserved the right to live freely, just as we all do. I remember my concern for worms, believing they must be unhappy living in the dirt. I would gently bring them inside, washing them off before returning them to their outdoor home. Cleaning them felt right until my mom explained that, in fact, worms like the dirt. While that didn't make sense to my child's mind, I learned to let them be, but my heart still held a deep concern for their well-being. Hopefully, the worms forgave me.
As I matured and my perspective broadened, I became increasingly aware of the struggles faced by people, particularly those who are marginalized and lack basic necessities like food and shelter. I began to understand that their challenges often stem from systemic injustices in our society, rather than any shortcomings on their part. Their hardships reflect deep-rooted issues that affect us all.
Now, with decades of experiences shaping my understanding, I truly believe that cruelty has no justification; it only creates more problems. We, as a society, hold incredible potential to create change if we choose to embrace it. We have the responsibility to hold our leaders accountable and to foster a culture centered on kindness and compassion. The systems we build today should prioritize the well-being of not just people but also animals and our beautiful planet, ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
Our world is more interconnected than ever, and each of our voices, including mine and those of countless others, has the power to inspire meaningful change. If we truly believe in the possibility of a better world, together, we can make it happen, nurturing a space where empathy and understanding prevail.
